The Old Man of the Woods is one of the most ancient figures in British and European folklore — a spirit of the deep forest, keeper of wild places, elder of the trees. This hand-carved sculpture brings him out of the bark and into your home.

Carved from a natural Chinaberry (Jempinis) trunk offcut in Bali, the bearded elder face emerges directly from the wood — as though he was always there, waiting to be found. The bark is left intact around him, and the natural grain, colour, and form of each trunk means no two pieces are ever identical.

Tall and slender, he suits a wall, a shelf, or a garden fence. Indoors or out — he belongs wherever the old ways are remembered.
